How does receipt scanning work?
Just snap a photo of any receipt. Our AI reads every item, price, tax, and tip automatically. Then you simply tap who had what, and SplitSmart calculates everyone's share instantly.
Is SplitSmart really free?
Yes, completely free. No limits on expenses, no ads, no premium features hidden behind a paywall. We built the app we wished existed, and we want everyone to use it.
Can I edit an expense after saving it?
Absolutely. You can modify any expense at any time, including itemized receipts. Made a mistake? No problem, just edit it.
Does SplitSmart support multiple currencies?
Yes. You can create expenses in any currency. If you have expenses in multiple currencies with a friend, SplitSmart tracks each currency separately in your balances.
Can I pay friends through the app?
SplitSmart tracks who owes what, but doesn't process payments directly. When it's time to settle up, you can use Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or any payment method you prefer.
Is my data private?
Your data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't share it with third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet, but it's in the works. The iOS version is live now. Android is coming soon.
